XLR and TRS know the difference

Every endpoint carries its physical connector type. Pure XLR, pure TRS, and combi sockets are modeled separately, so impossible patch choices are blocked before they become bad paperwork.

+48V phantom checks

Condenser cards are flagged +48V. Signal flow stops at any mic that hits a phantom input without power — but its siblings on the same interface keep flowing, so one dead mic never blacks out the whole desk.

One plug per jack

A real connectivity engine enforces one-plug-per-jack behavior, connector compatibility, normalling state, and active signal resolution as you patch.

Two bays, side by side

A normalled TRS bay — switch half/full per module and watch the rear routing change — mounted next to a straight-through XLR bay for mic-level patching.
